We have entered into the new Jewish month called AV.  The month of Av began on July 29, 2022 and will last through most of August.

Av is based on the tribe of Simeon.  This is a month that you need to be careful about what you hear.  Leah named her second son Simeon because she said the Lord has heard that I am unloved, so God has given me a second son (Genesis 29:33).

Av is associated with a new level of discernment.  [We need to discern what the enemy is saying from what God is saying.}

Av is the month the Israelites were supposed to enter into the Promised Land.  But they believed the bad, unbelieving reports of the 10 spies and did not heed the good report from Joshua and Caleb.  The 9th of Av was the specific day this happened.  The Jews never repented for their unbelief so a cycle of destruction opens up around this time.

History shows that on the 9th of Av, 587 BC—the armies of Babylon destroyed Solomon’s temple.

On the 9th of Av, AD 70, the Romans destroyed the 2nd temple.

On the 9th of Av, AD 1290, the Jews were expelled from England.

On the 9th of Av, AD 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain.

Other destructive things have happened for Israel on this date.

But God’s plan was that this was a time to celebrate His goodness [by believing His good report, not an evil report.].   When God told Israel to enter into the Promised Land, the Israelites said the enemy is too strong for us!  Therefore, on this day, the Jews have been defeated by their enemies throughout history.

The good news is that Av is a month that presents us with a choice.

We can choose to receive a curse or break a curse!

We can choose to believe God’s promise!

We can choose to enter God’s blessing!

So receive the Lord’s promise in your life and mix it with faith this month!

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

Watch your attitude and your mouth this month.  Be careful not to speak out what the enemy is saying.  Speak the blessing and receive the blessing of the Lord instead!
