EXCERPT FROM JANE HAMON/POSTED JAN 19, 2022

A Double Portion Year

It seems rather obvious, with all the twos in the year 2022, that God would decree a double portion year. However, when we look at the story of Elijah and Elisha we see that the request for a double portion aligns with this current Hebraic year. The phrase “double portion” (in Hebrew) is actually double Peh [Peh means “portion”]. This aligns with the year ’82, or Peh + two, or double. In Hebrew it literally means a double portion year!

In the familiar story of 2 Kings 2, Elisha asked, “‘Please let a double portion [Peh] of your spirit be upon me.’ And Elijah said, ‘You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if you do not see me, it shall not be so'” (verses 9-10, emphasis mine). I believe, in this double portion year, God is telling us we cannot afford to lose our focus. If we will keep our eyes on Him in the midst of all the shaking, He will bring us, individually and corporately, into the most supernatural, miraculous season we have ever seen, but we must stay focused in order to receive.
